IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE, Legal Counsel, Commercial (1-3 PQE), 6-12 month interim, B2B data & Saas Business, London City
Commercial Legal Counsel | London (Hybrid) | 2/3 days a week in the office. This is an opportunity for a junior lawyer who is immediately available and happy to take on a project for 6-12 months initially with potential to go permanent.
We're working with a fast-growing, VC-backed B2B SaaS company that builds a leading sales intelligence and data platform for revenue teams across Europe and the US. Headquartered in one of London's most iconic office buildings, with several hundred employees across multiple continents, the business has scaled rapidly since its founding roughly a decade ago and continues to grow at pace recently strengthening its leadership team as it enters its next phase of growth.
As the legal team grows alongside the business, this role has been created for a commercially-minded junior lawyer to join as a generalist, getting broad exposure across contracts, commercial negotiations and day-to-day legal support for a fast-moving SaaS business.
The Role
Reporting into the legal team, this is a hands-on, varied role for someone early in their career who wants genuine responsibility and exposure to a wide range of commercial legal work, rather than sitting in a narrow specialism. You will work closely with sales, marketing, procurement, finance and product teams, supporting the business as it scales internationally.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a broad commercial skillset inside a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment, with direct access to senior lawyers and business stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Commercial contracts draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial agreements including customer contracts, NDAs, order forms, partnership agreements and vendor/supplier contracts.
- Sales support work directly with the sales team to review and negotiate customer paperwork at pace, balancing commercial risk with deal velocity.
- Procurement and vendor agreements support the review and negotiation of supplier and procurement contracts, including data processing terms.
- Day-to-day legal queries act as a first point of contact for general legal questions from across the business, escalating appropriately.
- Policy and process help maintain contract templates, playbooks and internal legal processes; contribute to making the contracting process faster and more self-serve for the business.
- Cross-functional collaboration work with marketing on compliance matters, with HR on employment-adjacent queries, and with the wider legal team on ad hoc projects.
- Learning and development get exposure to data protection, IP and corporate matters as they arise, with support to build specialist knowledge over time.
About You
You are a qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent) with around 1–3 years' PQE, ideally with some commercial or technology transactions experience, whether from private practice or in-house. You are commercially minded, pragmatic, and comfortable working at pace in a fast-moving environment.
You're keen to learn, not afraid to ask questions, and comfortable managing a high volume of contracts without losing sight of the detail. You communicate clearly and confidently with non-lawyers, and you enjoy being close to the business rather than sitting apart from it.
Essential
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent)
- 1–3 years' PQE, with some commercial/technology contracts experience
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working directly with commercial teams (sales, procurement, marketing)
- Good judgement and ability to work autonomously on day-to-day matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in a SaaS, tech or data-driven business
- Exposure to data protection / privacy basics
- In-house experience (even short-term or via secondment)
- Experience working with a US and/or international customer base
What This Role Is and Isn't
✅ A broad generalist commercial role with genuine day-to-day contract ownership
✅ Suited to someone early in their career who wants varied, hands-on exposure
✅ A stepping stone into a growing legal team, with room to specialise over time
Not a narrow, single-specialism role
Not a purely supervisory or supporting position you'll own your own contracts
Not suited to someone looking for a slow-paced or process-heavy environment
