Senior Legal Counsel - Technology/Commercial - 12 month FTC

Based at Group Headquarters, this role is ideal for an ambitious common-law qualified lawyer with strong IT/technology expertise who wants to play a central role in major digital and commercial initiatives. Please note this role is a 12-month FTC.

Responsibilities:

• You will partner closely with Group IT, IT Procurement and Cyber Security, delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice across technology, commercial and data protection matters.

• You will lead and support significant IT and technology projects, working independently and collaboratively on large-scale, often global programmes from RFP through to execution.

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating high-value, complex agreements such as SaaS and cloud arrangements, software licensing, system implementation and integration projects, AI, professional services and support agreements.

Skills:

• Confident in negotiations, you will focus on material legal and commercial risks and propose practical, business-oriented solutions.
• You will be happy to lead on specific data protection elements within technology transactions, including negotiating Data Processing Agreements, and staying ahead of regulatory developments affecting digital and AI initiatives.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and managing external counsel effectively.
• Commercially minded and solutions-driven, you will provide clear, user-friendly advice and thrive in a high-performing, collaborative environment
