Role Title: KDB Developer
Role Overview
Seeking experienced KDB+ professionals with (2-8+ years dedicated KDB+/q experience) to support the development, enhancement, administration, and maintenance of a large-scale KDB platform supporting global Capital Markets businesses across Fixed Income, FX, and Equities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and support KDB+ applications and platform components.
Design and optimize solutions for Real Time and historical market data processing.
Manage and support large-scale KDB environments handling petabyte-scale data and 500+ users.
Integrate KDB+ with Real Time messaging platforms such as Solace, Kafka, and ION.
Implement DevOps, automation, monitoring, and platform reliability practices.
Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure platform stability and scalability.
Required Skills
KDB+ & q
Strong experience in KDB+ development, administration, and production support.
Deep understanding of:
- q language, data structures, and datatypes
- Array-oriented programming
- q-SQL and KDB-specific joins (asof, window joins)
- KDB database architecture, storage, and query optimization
- Inter-process communication
- Tickerplant, RDB, HDB, Gateway, and chained process architectures
Real Time Data Platforms
Experience integrating KDB+ with Solace, Kafka, or ION Strong understanding of Real Time market data processing and distribution.
Capital Markets
Strong domain knowledge of:
-Fixed Income
- FX
- Equities
Experience with trading, market data, or risk analytics platforms.
DevOps & Production Support
CI/CD, deployment automation, and environment management.
Experience with monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos.
Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support skills.
Preferred Experience
Managing enterprise-scale KDB platforms with petabyte-scale datasets.
Supporting global trading environments and mission-critical data platforms.
Objective: Development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise KDB+ platform supporting Capital Markets business functions.
