Senior AI Engineer - Reinsurance
Contract Length: until March 2027 initially - highly extendable
Location: London(2-3 Days Onsite)
Rate: Up to £610 per day inside IR35
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Engineer to join a global technology team delivering innovative AI-powered solutions within a complex enterprise environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of advanced AI applications that automate business processes, improve operational efficiency, and drive digital transformation through the use of Generative AI and machine learning technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and process optimisation
- Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications in production environments
- Build solutions leveraging:
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Document processing and information extraction
- AI agents and agentic workflows
- Classification and automation capabilities
- Partner with business and operational stakeholders to understand challenges and deliver scalable solutions
- Own the full life cycle of AI products from proof of concept through to production deployment
- Develop frameworks for AI testing, evaluation, monitoring, and hallucination detection
- Drive experimentation and innovation using modern AI engineering practices
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, AI Engineering, Machine Learning, or related disciplines
- Strong hands-on Python development experience
- Experience building and deploying AI solutions into production environments
- Commercial experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI
- Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures
- Experience developing end-to-end AI products and services
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including CI/CD and containerisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
