Linux Engineer
Location: Work from home/Telford
Duration: 6 months initially
This senior-level role sits within a Linux team responsible for the provision of Managed Service & Project activities.
The team provides support to the Servers on the Live, Development & Test environments as well as performing all Change & Project work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operating system support and maintenance for SUSE & RedHat Linux Servers, both physical & virtual.
In addition there will be a considerable amount of migration/transformation Project work, some of which may be out of hours.
Key capabilities required for role:
Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems
Ability to develop and maintain high-quality UNIX Shell Scripts
Experience supporting and troubleshooting across multi-platform UNIX/Linux estates
Understanding of Network technologies & components
Understanding of cloud computing principles, particularly in the context of infrastructure management
