IT Support Apprentice
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Support Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate will provide first-line IT support to staff and learners, assist with maintaining IT equipment and systems and support the management of the college network and infrastructure.
Role
- Provide first-line technical support to staff and learners
- Diagnose and troubleshoot common hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications and other college systems
- Set up, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, tablets, and other devices
- Install and update software applications
- Maintain IT equipment inventories and asset records
- Assist with equipment repairs and warranty processes
- Support classroom technology, printers, and audiovisual equipment
- Help diagnose basic network connectivity issues
- Assist with user account administration and access permissions
- Follow college IT security policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Support compliance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
Training
The Apprentice will attend Sheffield College - City Campus one day per week.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in Information Technology while gaining practical experience in a specialist education environment.
