Sales Manager / Director – About the role:
As Sales Leader, you’ll be responsible for delivering growth targets and embedding a high-performance sales culture. This role is 80% leadership and strategy, 20% personal execution, ensuring you retain credibility in the market while focusing on coaching and team success.
Reporting directly to the Director of Client Engagement, you’ll work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Operations to deliver seamless client experiences. You’ll also represent the organisation at industry events and play a vital role in shaping company-wide strategy as part of the operational management team.
Sales Manager / Director – Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4+ business development and account managers.
- Drive performance against revenue targets, ensuring accountability and resilience.
- Manage pipeline, forecasting, and reporting for board-level review.
- Personally lead a select number of complex, high-value opportunities.
- Act as “deal quarterback” on flagship opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, delivering engaging presentations.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, procurement frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
Sales Manager / Director / Leader – Essential Skills:
- Minimum 5 years’ sales management experience with proven success as both manager and seller.
- Demonstrable experience closing deals from £2k – £500k+.
- Track record of leading and growing teams of 4+ people to exceed quotas.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, from boardroom to public forums.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, with experience in reporting and forecasting.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and forecasting tools.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of social housing, public sector procurement, or regulatory environments.
- Experience in IoT, SaaS, or data-driven technology sales.
- Background in scaling sales teams in a growth-stage business.
