LBBW Risk Graduate - 6 month FTC London Branch

We are looking for a bright Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science graduate who enjoys data analysis to join the Risk Management team for 6 months. You will gain practical experience in risk analysis , exposure management, and mitigation techniques, applying academic knowledge to real-world scenarios. Along with developing skills in reporting, problem-solving, and decision-making while learning from experienced risk professionals. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge of financial markets across a variety of products, including treasury instruments and credit products which include bonds, repurchase agreements (repo), structured credit and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).

Overview of the role:

You will be given exposure to our processes and procedures and in turn you will offer support in automation and process improvement of these.

You will be given the opportunity to assist in producing Power BI reports and supporting stress testing activities along with exposure to data science techniques and analytical methods.

You will collaborate with various departments to gather information, assess vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions, gaining exposure to multiple areas of risk management.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to work with data in a structured and accurate manner, including data preparation, analysis, validation and presentation. Familiarity with Excel and at least one data-analysis, programming, database or visualisation tool—such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI or Tableau—is desirable.
  • A basic understanding of market and credit risk concepts and metrics, including Value at Risk (VaR), risk sensitivities, Probability of Default (PD) and Credit VaR.
  • Basic knowledge of database administration.
  • Understand of financial stress testing activities.
  • Ability to create clear work instructions, procedures and report documentation.
