The Technology Directorate plays a vital role in supporting our charitable mission by leveraging technology to enable efficient operations, enhance service delivery, and drive innovation. Through strategic consultancy, delivery of transformational technology (and technology culture) changes, reliable IT operations, and seamless integration of digital solutions, the department ensures that technology aligns with the organisation's goals, empowering teams to deliver greater impact to the communities we serve.

This job exists to ensure the smooth operation, optimisation, and security of Sight Scotland's IT systems. Acting as the escalation point for technical issues, this role focuses on system maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing expertise to resolve complex challenges. As the Senior Systems Specialist you will support the Head of IT Operations in analysing recurring issues and implementing preventative measures and in the event of disaster ensure recovery plans are invoked. You will also support the Support Technicians with daily systems checks and fixes as required, this includes participation in the weekly rota for early morning checks and be the "go to expert" in identified areas of IT skills and maintain proficiency through self-directed learning.

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise in system administration, monitoring, and optimisation. You will have proven experience with cloud platforms, enterprise applications and IT monitoring tools is essential such as Microsoft Azure, NetSuite, SharePoint, Active Directory, Salesforce, Cascade HR. You will be proactive in staying up to date with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and advancements relevant to the role and be able to assess and recommend new tools, improvements, or efficiencies to enhance technology solutions, service delivery, and organisational impact.
