About the job you're considering
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer in our Cloud & Custom Applications practice, you will work on mission-critical systems that require high availability, security, and scalability. You will be responsible for building, automating, and optimising cloud-based infrastructure while ensuring compliance with security standards.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and your home — noting that you will be unable to work from home 100% of the time.
Your role
- Design, build, and manage AWS environments with a focus on automation, scalability, and security.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous integration and continuous deployment for mission-critical applications.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing observability best practices.
- Work in an Agile environment, engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver iterative improvements.
Your skills and experience
Essential:
- Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS in secure environments.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
- Understanding of AWS networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or AWS CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security models and best practices for securing cloud workloads.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and optimise cloud deployments.
Security clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance .
To obtain DV clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 10 years , along with other detailed criteria and requirements.
