Commissioning ManagerLocation: Blyth, North East EnglandSector: Data Centres / Mission CriticalProject: £10bn Hyperscale Data Centre CampusOur client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England.This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will lead all commissioning activities across a major phase of the project, ensuring mechanical, electrical and control systems are planned, tested and commissioned safely, efficiently and in accordance with client requirements. Working closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, MEP teams, commissioning engineers, subcontractors and client representatives, you will develop and manage the commissioning strategy, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive successful project completion through to final handover.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to integrated systems testing and client handoverDevelop and implement project commissioning plans, programmes and commissioning strategiesCoordinate commissioning teams, specialist subcontractors and equipment vendorsManage interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA, controls and client fit-out teamsEnsure systems are installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and client requirementsOversee commissioning documentation, inspection and test plans, system completion & turnover processesMonitor commissioning progress and implement recovery plans where requiredChair commissioning meetings and provide regular progress reports to project leadership and client teamsManage system walkdowns, punch lists, snagging and close-out activitiesEnsure all commissioning activities comply with health, safety and quality standardsSupport integrated systems testing (IST), energisation and operational readinessLead the successful handover of commissioned systems to the client and operations teamsRequirementsProven experience as a Commissioning Manager on major construction projectsPrevious experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or other complex industrial developmentsStrong understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls and BMS systemsExperience managing commissioning programmes within live, multidisciplinary project environmentsExcellent knowledge of commissioning procedures, QA/QC, system completion and handover processesStrong planning, organisational and stakeholder management skillsAbility to coordinate multiple subcontractors, consultants and client teamsDegree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related disciplineExperience working within fast-paced, technically demanding construction environmentsPackageHighly competitive salary + comprehensive packageRotation / Accommodation / Living allowance / Travel allowanceBonus / Car allowance / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceLong-term opportunity on one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developmentsThis is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in the delivery of one of Europe's most significant digital infrastructure programmes.
