Our client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England.
This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the installation of mechanical systems across a major phase of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, to the highest quality standards and in line with programme requirements.
Working closely with Mechanical Construction Managers, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives, you will coordinate day-to-day site activities, oversee specialist installation teams and ensure all mechanical works are completed in accordance with design intent, project specifications and commissioning requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day mechanical installation activities across the project
Coordinate mechanical subcontractors and specialist installation teams
Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, pipework, public health services, cooling infrastructure and associated mechanical plant
Ensure works are completed safely, to programme and in accordance with project specifications
Monitor productivity and identify potential delays or programme risks
Carry out site inspections, quality checks and ensure defects are rectified promptly
Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA and commissioning teams
Review drawings, technical documentation and installation sequences
Ensure materials, plant and labour resources are available to support project delivery
Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and inspection documentation
Promote and enforce the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
Support testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover activities
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on major construction projects
Previous experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial or large-scale commercial developments
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, pipework, public health services and mechanical building services
Experience supervising mechanical subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams xkybehq
Good understanding of QA/QC, testing and commissioning processes
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
CSCS card
First Aid qualification desirable
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
