QAQC LeadLocation: Blyth, North East EnglandSector: Data Centres / Mission CriticalProject: £10bn Hyperscale Data Centre CampusOur client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced QA/QC Lead Mechanical to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England.This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading mechanical quality assurance and quality control activities across the project, ensuring all installation works meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and technical excellence.Working closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, Mechanical teams, commissioning personnel, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives, you will oversee quality processes, inspections, testing and documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle, from installation through to commissioning and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesLead QA/QC activities across all mechanical installation packagesDevelop, implement and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures and project documentationReview mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements and technical submissionsConduct inspections and monitor compliance of mechanical works against project requirementsEnsure installation standards meet design intent, client specifications and industry standardsManage mechanical quality records, inspection reports, test documentation and handover filesCoordinate inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors and commissioning teamsManage NCRs, defects, observations and corrective actions through to close-outSupport commissioning activities including pressure testing, flushing, testing, balancing and system validationReview subcontractor quality submissions and ensure compliance with project requirementsLead quality meetings, audits and reporting activitiesCoordinate mechanical quality interfaces with electrical, CSA, BMS and commissioning teamsPromote a strong quality culture across all site operationsRequirementsProven experience as a QA/QC Lead, QA/QC Manager with a strong mechanical backgroundPrevious experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, industrial or complex commercial projectsStrong technical understanding of mechanical building services including HVAC, chilled water systems, pipework, plant installation and associated systemsExperience managing mechanical QA/QC processes on large-scale construction projectsStrong knowledge of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), NCR management, commissioning documentation and handover processesAbility to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and technical documentationExperience working with specialist subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teamsStrong organisational, reporting and stakeholder management skillsMechanical engineering qualification (Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent) preferredExperience working within fast-paced, technically demanding construction environmentsPackageHighly competitive salary + comprehensive packageRotation / Accommodation / Living allowance / Travel allowanceBonus / Car allowance / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceLong-term opportunity on one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developmentsThis is an exceptional opportunity to play a key quality leadership role on one of the UK's most significant digital infrastructure programmes.
