Infrastructure Engineers - DV Clearance Required

LM Recruitment are looking for experienced Infrastructure Engineers with current DV clearance to work in Gloucestershire.

The role is office based and working alongside the client base team and involves the maintenance and support of a highly critical service in collaboration with client operations and security teams to ensure service remains optimised for performance and compliance.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor, prioritise and help resolve support request from user community.

Management of assets including onboarding and off-boarding processes.

Perform regular support status checks and other proactive or reactive tasks.

Monitor and log application and infrastructure health, troubleshooting and optimising system performance based on key metrics

Deploy updates, fixes, and perform regular maintenance

Perform root cause analysis for production errors and implement long-term solutions

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently

Automate tasks, including visualisation and reporting processes

Undertake development activity in support of new and existing deployments of IT.

Develop skills and technical proficiency guided by senior client staff.

Implement and manage customer-requested integrations

Provide second-line technical support

Build tools and automation to reduce errors and enhance customer experience

Design and implement troubleshooting and maintenance procedures

Collaborate with teams for requirement gathering and documentation

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Essential

The following skills are required for the infrastructure engineers:

VMware Infrastructure

Design and deployment of large-scale Vmware environments

Configuration and management of ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and NSX

Implementation of RBAC for Vmware access control

High availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies

Operating Systems

Deployment, configuration, and management of Linux (various distributions)

Windows Server setup, including Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy

Linux repositories/mirrors setup and maintenance

Infrastructure as Code (IAC)

Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools for automated provisioning

CI/CD pipeline integration for infrastructure deployment

Containerisation & Orchestration

Deploying and managing services in Docker or Kubernetes

Integration with VMware environments

Access Management & Security

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for secure user access

Managing permissions within VMware, Windows, and Linux environments

Desirable

Building complex network solutions (routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)

Connectivity between on-premises Vmware and cloud environments

Network security best practices and segmentation

Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)

Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)

Experience with version control (Git)

Experience with automation and orchestration platforms

Experience of working in an Agile Environment
