Cyber Tech Lead (including AI) We are seeking a highly skilled Technical CISO Lead to drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity architecture and engineering with a focus on AI. This role will provide deep technical leadership, ensure robust protection of information assets, and enable business innovation and operational excellence. Given the rapidly evolving nature of AI capabilities and associated controls, the role will be deeply embedded within technology teams to provide real time cyber advice and guidance.________________________________________Governance and Committee Memberships(Membership of ExCos, Risk Management Meetings)* Participation in AI Governance forums, including Business AI Risk Committees (AirCo).________________________________________Key ResponsibilitiesAI SecurityDrive understanding across Technology and Cyber teams of the security controls and frameworks required for AI security. Work iteratively as technologies and control landscapes evolve, acting as an ambassador for AI security across the organisation.Cybersecurity ArchitectureLead the development and maintenance of secure architecture frameworks across cloud, on premises, and hybrid environments. Ensure alignment with industry standards (for example, NIST and ISO 27001) and organisational risk appetite, with a particular focus on AI.Technical Engineering LeadershipOversee the engineering and integration of security controls across platforms, including identity and access management, network security, endpoint protection, and data security. Champion automation and secure by design principles.Platform SecurityDrive the secure design and operation of critical technology platforms, collaborating closely with platform owners and engineering teams to embed security throughout the lifecycle.Incident Response and Threat ManagementProvide technical oversight for incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management. Lead root cause analysis and remediation of complex security incidents.Stakeholder EngagementAct as a trusted advisor to technology and business leaders, translating technical risks into actionable business recommendations. Present technical topics clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.Continuous ImprovementEvaluate emerging technologies and threats, recommending enhancements to security architecture and engineering practices. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.Team LeadershipMentor and develop a high performing team of security architects and engineers. Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.________________________________________Requirements* Minimum of 8 years' experience in cybersecurity architecture, technical engineering, and platform security within large, complex organisations (banking experience preferred).* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).* Relevant professional certifications (for example, CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, or AWS/Azure Security).* Deep knowledge of security frameworks (such as NIST and ISO 27001), cloud and on premises security, and secure software development practices.* Proven track record of designing and implementing security controls and solutions at scale.* Strong technical expertise in areas such as network security, identity management, cryptography, and automation.* Experience leading technical teams and managing cross functional projects.* Willingness to travel as required.* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
