This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Category Director to grow their career with London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) in the Cloud Category. LSEG operates a multi cloud vendor strategy with our partners which are pivotal to LSEG success.
This role supports our strategic cloud partnerships and collaborations, covering co-development of products and cloud infrastructure solutions across all LSEG divisions The relationships involve a significant migration of internal systems to the cloud as well as strategic co-development opportunities across a range of products and businesses. Reporting to the Head of Technology Procurement, this role is accountable for the commercial and contractual activities across Cloud, including supplier relationship management, the sourcing and partner strategy, and alignment with the objectives for the two agreements. It will perform a combination of sourcing, supplier relationship management and business partnering activities, primarily supporting Executive level and C suite stakeholders and their leadership teams. To that end we build senior relationships, understand their business objectives, how the partnerships are delivering against them, ensure the partnerships continue to deliver and make changes as necessary, We create opportunities to meet our partnership business objectives in a commercially optimal way, while avoiding commercial risk. We work across LSEG and the partner to leverage wider relationship to achieve this. Procurement plays a pivotal role in supporting these partnerships, achievement through close collaboration with them. You will be encouraged to demonstrate experiences in these areas at interview. Procurement Organisation You will be working in a distributed organisation with presence in the UK (London), USA (New York), Spain (Madrid), Singapore, India (Bengaluru) and Sri Lanka (Columbo). The Procurement organisation reports into the Chief Finance Officer, providing services to the whole of LSEG with supplier spend of c. 2BN and c. 5,000 suppliers. It operates under the following key categories:- Services (Consultancy & Contingent Labour, Technology Services, ITO & BPO)
- Technology (under which this role will reside, covering IT hardware, Cloud, Licensed software, Datacentres and Telecoms spend)
- Corporate (Real estate, Marketing, HR, data, etc.)
- Strategy and Performance (S&P) Team responsible for implementing the strategy of the function, whilst delivering outstanding procurement policy and processes.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Team responsible for maintaining relationships with our Tier 1 suppliers.
- Lead Procurement engagement across Cloud providers to support the end-to-end sourcing, commercial and contractual requirements. The role needs to make valuable contributions to the Partnership & Collaboration objectives through innovative commercial and wider procurement behaviours.
- Partner with key senior LSEG Technology, Partnership Programme and Business teams to enhance delivery of strategies using key commercial and contractual levers.
- Build relationship with Microsoft, AWS and other suppliers to drive deeper understanding of LSEG and supplier strategy to influence product development and drive early product adoption.
- Partner across the Group being a Procurement Business Partner, jointly review partnership objectives, agree appropriate strategy and projects (and delivers those projects). Understand the objectives of both relationships and the pipeline of projects to support delivery
- Have the desire and ability to challenge the status quo constructively and in partnership with partners
- Understand the partner and providers product development pipelines and how this can support the partnership objectives
- Be proactive on all matters
- Partner with Finance to jointly develop cost reduction and revenue generation strategies. Drive the analysis and reporting on spend to identify, build sponsorship for and pursue new savings opportunities
- Provide expert knowledge of commercial and contract models for software development, professional services and cloud related services
- Experienced knowledge of technology services and cloud cost models and how to present bid summaries back to senior partners
- Work with Microsoft Partnership Programme to implement and report on progress
- Create leverage and innovative commercial solutions within a sole source partnership to optimise value
- Be a standout colleague within the Global Procurement team and advocate of the function
- Lead and develop a cross functional and multi-disciplinary team, including managing two direct reports
- Ensure priorities are handled effectively by modifying plans and actions in your own area of accountability
- Develop and lead a project against a plan and objectives to ensure commitments are met by monitoring, assessing, and resolving variances in budget, timing or quality of work
- Focused to lead and complete required admin tasks (such as project reporting and timely updates to Sourcing systems)
- Excellent at communicating and influencing senior leaders
- Excellent negotiation ability with partners particularly in sole source arrangements
- Procurement leadership and oversight of a highly complex contract
- Knowledge of cloud and professional services sourcing
- Full remit for development of sourcing strategies based on business objectives

- Able to mark-up contracts, contractual Change Requests and to agreed fall back language
- Experience with the following systems: SAP Fieldglass for SOW management, Oracle iProcurement (Fusion) and Ariba experience is beneficial.
