Were looking for an experienced Cyber Security Consultant with a strong Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) background to join a leading UK-based cybersecurity consultancy.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone whos worked in a consultancy environment , ideally advising small to medium-sized businesses , and who thrives on guiding clients through frameworks like NIST, ISO27001, CIS , and Cyber Essentials/Plus .

What Youll Do

  • Lead risk assessments and gap analyses , delivering actionable insights aligned with leading frameworks (Cyber Essentials, NIST, ISO27001, CIS).
  • Provide expert GRC guidance , helping clients build, assess, and mature their cybersecurity posture.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and collaborate on remediation through services such as MDR, DLP, and Penetration Testing.
  • Act as a trusted security advisor , managing multiple client engagements and presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with Sales, Leadership, and Technical teams to support pre-sales activity and shape tailored client security strategies.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by tracking emerging threats, regulatory changes, and best practices across the cybersecurity landscape.

What Were Looking For

  • Proven experience in a cybersecurity consultancy , ideally serving SMEs or mid-market clients .
  • Strong understanding of GRC frameworks particularly Cyber Essentials/Plus, NIST, CIS , and ISO27001 .
  • Proficiency with common cybersecurity tools and technologies, and a strong knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, trends, and mitigation strategies, ideally around vulnerability management or incident response.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements, balancing technical insight with commercial awareness.
