Penetration Tester
Contract Penetration Tester (Code Review Focus)
Remote (UK) | £400 - 450/day
We are looking for a Penetration Tester to join a friendly, delivery-focused security team. This role is heavily centred on secure code reviews and application security testing, helping clients understand real risk and how to fix it properly.
You will work closely with customers and the wider team to deliver high-quality technical assurance that makes a tangible difference.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering penetration testing and application security testing across a range of client environments
- Conducting secure code reviews (manual and assisted), identifying vulnerabilities and recommending practical remediation
- Writing clear, high-quality reports that both technical and non-technical stakeholders can use
- Taking part in customer debriefs and supporting follow-up questions
- Contributing to scoping and shaping work (where needed)
- Supporting the team on wider security consultancy activities as required
What we’re looking for
- Proven commercial experience as a Pen Tester / Security Consultant
- Strong application security skills, including familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and common secure coding flaws
- Confident in completing code reviews (any of the following languages is a plus
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Comfortable working autonomously in a remote setup, while staying collaborative and responsive
- Solid organisation and time management
Nice to have (but not essential)
- Experience supporting organisations with Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus (or a good understanding of the controls and how they apply in practice)
- Certifications such as OSCP / CRT / CRTO / CHECK (or equivalent experience)
- Cloud security exposure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Red team or adversary simulation experience is a bonus
