System Administrator (Security Clearance Required)
Contract Role | North West London, UK - Onsite - Outside IR35 £30 - £35 per hour
A strong opportunity has arisen for an experienced System Administrator to support a CIS operations within a highly specialised technical environment in North West London.
This role will suit a technically strong infrastructure professional with experience across virtualisation, server technologies, storage, imaging, and operational support, ideally within complex or mission-critical environments. The successful individual will play a key role in supporting assigned systems, maintaining technical documentation, and assisting with installations and surveys.
The Role
As a System Administrator, you will support the delivery, administration, and ongoing improvement of hardware and software across assigned systems. You will work closely with the Lead Section Head, technicians, engineers, and wider technical teams to help maintain service quality, configuration control, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Section Head in developing technical solutions
- Assist with troubleshooting SOP development and hardware technical refresh, and upgrade activity
- Carry out system administration across assigned hardware and software environments
- Ensure all technical and service documentation is prepared, stored correctly, and kept fully up to date
- Report configuration control data accurately and promptly
- Work closely with technicians and engineers across the wider environment
Required Experience
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware virtualisation
- Knowledge of SAN technology
- Experience with Windows workstation imaging
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies, including:
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange
- Experience with Application Server technologies
- Knowledge of the ITIL IT service management model
- Experience across Incident Management and Problem Management
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and user guides
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
