AI Engineer - Contract Role

AI Engineer | Contract | Initial 3 months | Newcastle (Hybrid) | £585-600/day Inside IR35

We have a new contract role for an AI Engineer to work on cutting-edge generative AI solutions leveraging Google Gemini and Google Cloud Platform.

This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week required on site in Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement AI-driven solutions using Google Gemini and Vertex AI
• Build and integrate generative AI models via APIs
• Develop scalable Back End systems in Python for data processing and model orchestration.
• Implement RAG workflows and vector search for knowledge integration
• Deploy solutions on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring security and compliance
• Apply ML Ops best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring

Tech Stack:

• Python
• ML libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain
• Cloud: Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, Gemini API
• CI/CD with Docker/Kubernetes

Ideal Candidate

• Strong background in Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Software Engineering
• Hands-on experience with Google Gemini, Vertex AI, GCP services or AWS/Azure
• Proven ability to integrate foundation models and build scalable AI systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Bonus: Experience with prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and taking POCs to production
