Lead Network Analyst

Location: Bristol/Livingston
Salary: £55,000

We're working with a well-established, technology-driven organisation that is investing heavily in its IT infrastructure and network capability. As part of this growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Lead Network Analyst to join their Group IT function.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll play a key part in designing, improving and maintaining a complex enterprise network environment, supporting both internal operations and customer-facing services.

The Role

As a Lead Network Analyst, you'll be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance and security of the organisation's network infrastructure. Working closely with wider infrastructure teams, you'll drive continuous improvement across network services, architecture and delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the stability and integrity of voice, data and wireless network services
  • Monitoring, analysing and improving network performance and availability
  • Reviewing and optimising network topology and configuration
  • Leading on network design, planning and implementation projects
  • Supporting network segmentation and security improvements
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues across the estate
  • Working collaboratively with server, storage and wider IT teams
  • Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Providing technical leadership, guidance and expertise across the network estate
Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven experience in a Lead Network Analyst/Senior Network Engineer role
  • Strong routing and switching experience (eg BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS)
  • Experience with network security technologies (Firewalls, load balancers, WAFs)
  • Knowledge of IP telephony (VoIP, SIP)
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, segmentation and performance
  • Exposure to security best practices and frameworks (eg ISO27001, Cyber Essentials)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
