Principal Engineer

Principal Engineer - £650 outside IR35 - Hybrid (London office, twice a week)

Please note: This is a contract role, and candidates must be able to commute to the London office twice per week.

La Fosse has partnered with an established business to recruit a Contract Principal Engineer to join their team. This role is heavily focused on architectural system design, taking ownership of shaping scalable, integration led platforms across a complex technology landscape. You will play a key role in defining and driving technical strategy.

Key Requirements

• Strong experience in TypeScript (Node.js/React environment)
• Solid knowledge of AWS (EKS, Lambda, Aurora RDS)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in cloud-native environments
• Proven ability building GraphQL & REST APIs
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka advantageous)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
• Experience with monitoring tools (eg, DataDog)
• Strong background in system integrations, particularly with Salesforce
• Understanding of Salesforce data flows (Marketing, Loyalty, Revenue Cloud beneficial)

Role Focus

• 80% architectural/system design: shaping scalable, integration-heavy platforms
• 20% hands-on engineering: contributing to key technical decisions and implementation
