AI & Automation Lead - UK

PE-backed HealthTech - (Interim / Fractional with a potential for long term Permanent)

We’re working with a PE-backed healthcare business across the UK and Europe, that are looking to connect with AI & Automation Leads who can identify and unlock value across the organisation.

This is not a traditional AI role focused on building models or tooling.

This is senior leadership team position reporting to the board, so you will need experience taking a top-down view of a business and identifying where AI and automation can drive real impact across operations, workforce, sales, customer workflows and product.

The types of environments this applies to:

• Healthcare services (e.g. care / workforce-heavy models)
• Medtech / product-led businesses
• Digital health, CRO and data-led environments

We’re interested in people who have:

• Worked from a standing start or low maturity (e.g. early ChatGPT / fragmented use)
• Identified and prioritised high-impact use cases across the business
• Driven early implementation and proven ROI quickly
• Helped embed AI into core workflows, not just experimentation
• Shaped how capability is built (internal teams, interim support, external partners)

The focus is typically:

• Operational efficiency and cost reduction
• Revenue and commercial performance
• Workflow automation and scalability
