We’re looking for a hands-on Data Architect to take ownership of a modern data warehouse & lakehouse architecture powering advanced analytics, predictive pricing, and intelligent automation. This is a high-impact role where you’ll define the data strategy, set engineering standards, and build scalable, high-performance data platforms on Azure.

🔧 What you’ll be doing

• Own and evolve enterprise data architecture (warehouse + lakehouse)
• Design scalable data models (dimensional, canonical, star/snowflake)
• Build and optimise Databricks solutions (Delta Lake, DLT, SQL Warehouses)
• Set standards for performance, governance, and cost efficiency on Azure SQL
• Lead best practices across ELT/ETL pipelines, CI/CD, and reusable transformations
• Embed data quality, lineage, security, and GDPR-aligned governance
• Mentor engineers and collaborate across product, data, and business teams

🧠 What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a Data Architect or Lead Data Engineer
• Deep expertise in Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog)
• Advanced SQL + Azure SQL performance tuning (indexing, partitioning, query optimisation)
• Strong data modelling skills (Kimball, dimensional; Data Vault a bonus)
• Experience building robust, production-grade pipelines (Python, SQL, dbt)
• Solid understanding of data governance, quality, and regulatory frameworks (GDPR)
• Background in insurance / FS / Fintech
