Interim Director of Data- Ecommerce / Retail - London

Day Rate: £900 - £1100 per day

Contract Length: 6 months (likely to extend) Outside IR35

A fast-growing global e-commerce and retail brand is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Data to build and lead a centralised data function during a major growth phase.

This is a senior leadership role focused on creating a scalable, single source of truth across the business, supporting decision-making across Finance, CRM, Trading, Retail, and Operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• End-to-end data infrastructure transformation

• Rebuilding Power BI reporting frameworks from the ground up

• Establishing governance, validation, and auditability standards

• Managing external BI/data agency partnerships

• Building omnichannel reporting across e-commerce, retail, and logistics

• Scaling the internal data capability over time

Ideal candidates will have:

✔ 8–12+ years in data/BI leadership

✔ Strong Power BI and data architecture expertise

✔ E-commerce experience (Shopify preferred)

✔ Omnichannel retail analytics experience

✔ A highly structured, ownership-driven mindset
