EUC Lead / Endpoint Management Lead

EUC Lead / Endpoint Management Lead

£450–£550 per day | 12-Month Contract | Fully Remote

We are supporting an organisation in hiring an experienced EUC Lead / Endpoint Management Lead to take ownership of their endpoint strategy and drive a major modernisation programme across their digital workplace.

This is a high-impact role where you will assess the current environment, stabilise performance issues, and implement a clear roadmap toward a secure, standardised, and high-performing endpoint estate.

The Opportunity

The business has already invested heavily in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), with ~80% of users operating in that environment. However, reliability challenges, inconsistent patching, and outdated configurations are impacting user experience.

The next phase is to transform endpoint management, and they need a seasoned expert to lead from the front.

You will:

  • Take ownership of endpoint strategy across multiple jurisdictions
  • Define and implement standards, builds, and governance
  • Deliver quick wins while shaping a longer-term roadmap
  • Mentor internal engineers and build lasting capability

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the SME for endpoint management technologies (Intune, Autopilot, Entra ID, etc.)
  • Assess current endpoint landscape and define target-state architecture
  • Design and implement standardised Windows builds, policies, and configurations
  • Lead endpoint lifecycle management (provisioning, deployment, compliance, decommissioning)
  • Drive adoption of modern, cloud-native endpoint management (Intune-first approach)
  • Improve endpoint reliability and user experience, especially across AVD environments
  • Oversee patching, compliance, and device health, reducing inconsistency and drift
  • Implement Zero Trust principles across endpoint estate
  • Work closely with Security, Cloud, and IT Support teams to align standards
  • Act as escalation point for complex endpoint issues and root cause analysis
  • Mentor and develop team members, embedding best practices

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience as an Endpoint Lead / EUC Lead / Senior Endpoint Engineer
  • Strong hands-on expertise with:
  • Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
  • Windows Autopilot (AADJ preferred)
  • Entra ID & Conditional Access
  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • Experience with endpoint standardisation or transformation programmes
  • Strong knowledge of patching, compliance, and device configuration management
  • Experience with tools such as Action1 and endpoint monitoring platforms (e.g. ControlUp)
  • Solid PowerShell scripting capability
  • Ability to define endpoint standards, builds, and governance frameworks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
  • Background in global or multi-jurisdiction environments
  • Experience contributing to technical governance and strategy

What They’re Looking For

  • A true endpoint veteran who can take ownership and lead confidently
  • Someone who can assess “as-is” vs “to-be” and deliver a clear roadmap
  • A balance of hands-on engineering and strategic thinking
  • A leader who can mentor others and raise overall capability
  • Someone pragmatic, focused on real improvements and stability

Additional Details

  • Contract: 12 months
