We're working with an industry leading energy company that are looking for 2 x Endur BA's to join them on a contract basis. This would be a long term project to work alongside their existing team and the role would fall inside IR35.

They're currently working as part of a hybrid model and are in the office twice per week. Please note that this is not a prerequisite for the role and they can be flexible for remote working from anywhere in Europe for the right people.

Background

European Gas & Power (EGP) is part of our clients trading business based in Canary Wharf, London. It is front and centre in their plans to move away from Oil to a future of renewable energy. The power business is a crucial element of this transition, and is tasked with developing the skills and knowledge required to trade renewable power while managing the risk of this abundant yet intermittent source of energy. Our clients power strategy includes reaching 12GW of renewable power assets by 2030, this equates to one third of the UKs current power consumption.

Role Description

This role will be working in a new area of the business relating to the trade and management of flexible generation power assets, primarily batteries but also CCG power stations. This team will be implementing a new operating model to manage these assets; it will need to interface new systems and data feeds (national grid; power auctions; weather forecasts) into existing trading and risk management systems (ETRMs). The role will include but is not limited to -

  • Endur ETRM change impact analysis
  • Process definition, process improvement
  • Gathering business requirements and recording them in a product backlog
  • Elaborating backlog items ready for delivery
  • Working with solution architecture to ensure an end-to-end systems landscape which meets business requirements
  • Writing interface specifications
  • Implementing a test regime to ensure quality across the delivery
  • Project delivery, reporting, risk management
  • Testing releases
  • Working with a hybrid team of delivery resources (internal & external); utilising scrum methodology where relevant
  • Provide regular reporting to project management

The candidate should have excellent communication skills and experience gained in a commercial environment, as set out below.

Essential Experience

  • At least one globally traded market, preferably physical commodities
  • Hands on and expert level experience of Endur Openlink
  • Business analysis skills; process definition, process improvement, interface/integration specification
  • Agile framework for software delivery, Azure Dev Ops (or similar)

Preferred Experience

  • Trade lifecycle & risk management
  • EU Grid balancing mechanism
  • Experience with EU power markets

Nice to Have Experience

  • AWS infrastructure and services
  • Global gas and power markets
