A high‐growth sports technology business operating at the intersection of advanced computer vision, real‐time data, and immersive digital experiences is seeking a Head of Machine Learning to lead and scale its ML function.
This is a senior, hands‐on leadership role with full ownership of machine learning strategy, delivery, and team development in a product‐led environment where ML is core to the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and define the end‐to‐end machine learning strategy aligned to company and product goals
- Build, lead, and mentor a high‐performing team of ML engineers and researchers
- Oversee delivery of production‐grade ML models, with a strong focus on computer vision (e.g. detection, tracking, key‐points, segmentation)
- Drive best practices across model development, evaluation, deployment, and lifecycle management
- Lead architectural decisions across models, tooling, MLOps, and infrastructure
- Ensure scalable, reliable deployment into production (optimisation, performance, cost awareness)
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders to turn complex technical capability into real business impact
What I'm looking for
- 7+ years’ experience in machine learning, including senior leadership or management responsibility
- Strong track record of deploying ML models into real‐world production environments
- Deep expertise in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience owning or shaping MLOps, CI/CD, cloud‐based ML infrastructure (AWS or similar)
- Background in computer vision is highly desirable
- Strategic mindset combined with hands‐on technical depth
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and operate in fast‐paced environments
