Infrastructure Engineer

IT Infrastructure Engineer | Wiltshire (Hybrid/On-site) £50 000 - £55 000

I'm currently supporting the search for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a well-established UK organisation operating critical business and manufacturing systems.

This is a senior infrastructure role, acting as a key technical escalation point and subject matter expert across on-premise and cloud environments. You'll play a vital role in maintaining the stability, performance, and availability of core IT services while contributing to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

✅ Providing 3rd line support across desktop, server, network, and cloud environments

✅ Supporting and maintaining Hyper-V infrastructure and Microsoft technologies

✅ Administering and optimising AWS-hosted business-critical systems

✅ Managing wired and wireless networking infrastructure

✅ Leading technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service improvements

✅ Participating in infrastructure projects, technical design, and implementations

✅ Mentoring junior team members and promoting best practice across IT operations

✅ Working within ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience in an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role
• Strong AWS administration experience
• Microsoft Server, Office 365, and Active Directory expertise
• Networking knowledge including Wi-Fi technologies
• Understanding of PC hardware and infrastructure support
• Solid knowledge of ITIL principles and service management processes
