With a growing technology function and significant investment in engineering excellence, they're looking for a Platform Technical Lead to help shape the future of their cloud and developer platform capabilities.

This is a highly influential role focused on improving developer productivity, platform reliability, and engineering standards across multiple product teams. You'll combine strategic platform leadership with hands-on technical expertise, helping engineering teams move faster through automation, self-service tooling, and modern cloud practices.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define and drive the platform engineering roadmap, aligning initiatives with business and architectural priorities.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to identify challenges and opportunities for platform improvements.
  • Build and evolve an internal developer platform that enables teams to deliver software consistently and efficiently.
  • Lead initiatives around developer experience, automation, self-service tooling, templates, and engineering standards.
  • Design and operate scalable AWS-based cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  • Own Infrastructure-as-Code standards and reusable deployment patterns.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks that reduce risk and accelerate delivery.
  • Drive observability, monitoring, and reliability practices across the engineering estate.
  • Champion platform best practices through coaching, workshops, documentation, and technical leadership.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted engineering capabilities, to improve productivity and engineering effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong platform engineering, cloud architecture, or DevOps leadership experience.
  • Deep expertise in AWS and cloud-native technologies.
  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience, ideally with Terraform.
  • Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, reliability engineering, and operational excellence.
  • Development background with Python, .NET, or similar modern programming languages.
  • Experience enabling engineering teams through platform tooling, developer experience initiatives, or internal developer platforms.
  • Interest in AI Engineering, GitHub Copilot, and emerging developer productivity technologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
