Quality Assurance Engineer

QA Engineer - £480 inside IR35 Contract (Remote, once a quarter in Cardiff) - Ruby Experience

Please note: This is primarily a remote role; however, candidates must be UK-based and able to attend the office once per quarter.

La Fosse is partnering with a leading software company to recruit a QA Engineer on a 6-month contract. This role will focus on supporting the migration of a legacy system to a modern Azure cloud infrastructure while driving the transition of automated tests from Cucumber (Ruby) to Playwright . You’ll play a key part in ensuring robust test coverage and quality throughout this transformation.

Key requirements:

• Proficiency in Ruby and Cucumber: Ability to read and understand existing Ruby/Cucumber test scripts to support migration and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and JavaScript:
• Performance Testing Expertise: Familiarity with performance testing tools and methodologies to ensure system scalability and reliability.
• CI/CD Pipeline Knowledge: Practical experience working with GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines
• Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues, optimize test coverage, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks.
• Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and contributing to feature design and quality assurance processes.
