Technical Programme Manager – Strategic Transformation Programme

UK Hospitality & Support Services Sector

Hybrid Working | UK Wide

12-Month FTC

Salary Circa £100,000+ Package (DOE)

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Programme Manager to join a major UK hospitality and support services organisation at the very beginning of a landmark transformation programme.

This is a career-defining role, offering the chance to shape and lead a £100m strategic transformation programme from day one, building the governance, structure and delivery capability required to support one of the most significant business change initiatives in the organisation's history.

The successful candidate will sit at the heart of a complex transformation, coordinating technology, operations, commercial and workforce workstreams while partnering with executive stakeholders across the business, including C-suite leadership.

This is not a traditional project management position. We are looking for a true programme leader capable of creating structure, driving accountability and bringing together multiple interdependent initiatives into a single, integrated delivery programme.

The Opportunity

Joining at the mobilisation stage of the programme, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the delivery framework, governance model and cross-functional operating cadence that will underpin a multi-year transformation.

You'll be responsible for creating and owning the integrated programme plan, managing critical dependencies, governing programme risk and ensuring alignment across a broad stakeholder community.

As part of the transformation office, you'll also have the opportunity to recruit and build a high-performing team of approximately 5-6 programme professionals, providing leadership and direction across a programme involving more than 50 stakeholders and delivery resources.

This role offers unrivalled visibility, autonomy and influence within a business where successful programme delivery will directly impact future growth and strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Leadership

  • Lead the coordination of a complex, enterprise-wide transformation programme valued at approximately £100m.
  • Create and maintain a single integrated programme plan across multiple business and technology workstreams.
  • Manage programme interdependencies, critical paths, milestones and delivery risks.
  • Ensure all teams remain aligned against key delivery objectives and mobilisation milestones.

Governance & Executive Reporting

  • Establish and lead programme governance forums, including Steering Committees and executive reporting structures.
  • Produce concise, meaningful reporting focused on programme status, risks, decisions and outcomes.
  • Drive programme visibility and decision-making across senior leadership forums.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build trusted relationships with senior leadership, including CIO-level and executive stakeholders.
  • Influence and coordinate business, operational and technology leaders across multiple functions.
  • Ensure stakeholders remain aligned on priorities, dependencies, sequencing and programme outcomes.

Delivery & Risk Management

  • Maintain programme-wide RAID management and dependency tracking.
  • Identify potential delivery issues early and drive mitigation plans before critical milestones are impacted.
  • Coordinate delivery across internal teams and external suppliers.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a small, high-performing programme team of approximately 5-6 people.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration and delivery excellence.
  • Develop programme management standards, reporting disciplines and ways of working.

What We're Looking For

An accomplished Technical Programme Manager who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and has successfully delivered large-scale transformation programmes. You'll combine strong programme leadership, executive stakeholder management and technical credibility to bring structure, governance and momentum to a business-critical £100m transformation programme, while building and leading a team of 5-6 programme professionals from the outset.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience leading complex, enterprise-wide transformation programmes with multiple interdependent workstreams.
  • Experience within fast-paced, customer-facing sectors such as Retail, Hospitality, Travel, Leisure or Consumer Services.
  • Demonstrable track record delivering programmes with budgets or investment values in excess of £50m-£100m+.
  • Expertise in programme governance, executive reporting, RAID management and critical path planning.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging and influencing C-suite and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across technology, operations and business functions.
  • Strong technical awareness with the ability to work credibly alongside architecture, integration, data, cloud and cyber teams without being a hands-on technical specialist.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and delivery partners to key milestones and commitments.
  • Programme management qualification such as MSP, PRINCE2, PMP or APM, or equivalent experience.

Desired Experience

  • Previous involvement in major mobilisation, transformation, bid or contract transition programmes.
  • Exposure to technology platforms such as SAP, workforce management, POS, digital platforms, payments or enterprise applications.
  • Experience building and leading Programme Management Office (PMO) or delivery teams.
  • You do not need to be a technical specialist, but you must be technically credible.
  • You should be able to challenge assumptions, understand dependencies and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Existing SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
