Systems Integration Developer

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Digital Services Department for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual for the post of Systems Integration Developer within the technical systems development team.

The post holder will be a key contributor to the success of the Technical Systems Development Team in providing high-quality development and system support skills focussed on developing and supporting system integration solutions. The team play a critical role in ensuring patient are is supported through innovation, with a number of developments having received national recognition.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve the design, implementation, testing, maintenance and future development of complex and robust interfacing solutions to link both internal and external systems. The post holder will provide technical support, along with the development of the Trust's integration engines, as well as develop and support solutions on both the trusts on-premise and Azure platforms.

The individual will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent knowledge and experience

  • An in-depth knowledge of the design goals of required functionality, usability, maintainability, extensibility, resilience, performance, cost-effectiveness and timeliness
  • HL7 (Health Level 7) messaging protocol

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of managing interfaces in an integration engine
  • Recent relevant experience of developing data-driven applications in a complex and multi-disciplined environment
  • Recent relevant experience of the full life cycle of applications development - user requirements gathering, system design, programming, testing, performance tuning, training, deployment and support
  • Experience of integration, interfacing development
