Senior Workforce Information Analyst
Job summary
You'll be working across teams to provide professional workforce information and analyst skills primarily to support operational planning and financial recovery at the Trust.
This is a varied role with opportunity for development and stretch. The data you provide will give the Trust increased visibility of workforce information. Using your experience of coding and dashboard development (Qlik) you will develop workforce dashboards to increase accessibility of workforce data.
You will have experience in a workforce informational role, ideally within the NHS. You will be experienced in use of SQL coding. Preferably we are looking for someone to join the team with ESR BI experience and knowledge of ESR. We are looking for significant experience of designing reports and extracting information from systems and the ability to work independently and autonomously when required. We are also looking for advanced knowledge of Excel, including use of pivot tables and vLookup functions.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the Associate Director of Workforce and PMO Team on data to develop and track our workforce plans, will be a key part of the role. You will work alongside our internal planning colleagues in the finance and planning teams in support of the operational planning cycle. Previous experience of providing NHS workforce information support for workforce planning and completion of national templates would be preferred.

An understanding of NHS national workforce categorisations and occupational coding is required.

Job responsibilities
- Support the Associate Director of Workforce and PMO Team in the development and implementation of a Workforce Information data to support planning and financial recovery.
- Support and co-ordinate the Trusts annual workforce planning processes.
- Provide information and respond to data requests from outside bodies including CQC and NHSE and data for external national planning and financial recovery support.
- Undertake projects as directed by the Workforce Team and PMO Team.

- SQL
- Workforce Planning experience in NHS
Qualifications and Education
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience
- Workforce Planning related qualification.
Knowledge and Experience
- Significant experience in a workforce informational role, ideally within the NHS
- Advanced knowledge of workforce systems, including ESR.Allocate
- Previous experience of SQL, dashboard deveopment, designing reports and extracting information from Oracle based systems
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including use of pivot tables and vLookup functions
- Experience of collating and analysing statistical information and producing written reports and other materials for non-statistical professionals to aid performance management, business decisions and resources.
- Experience of collaborating with stakeholders to meet current and future needs within the organisational priorities and resources
- Understanding of NHS national workforce categorisations and coding
- Experience of using Oracle reporting tools such as ESR BI and reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Workforce planning experience, using a range of workforce planning approaches and tools.
- Experience of development and automation
- Knowledge of NHS Long Term Plan
