Software Engineer – C# / .NET

- Working Model: Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
- Contract: Initial 3-month contract with potential for extension

The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer with strong C#/.NET experience to join an established engineering team working on large-scale digital platforms and distributed services.
You will work across backend services, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems and modern full-stack applications, with a mixture of new development, platform enhancements, technical improvements and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and enhance C#/.NET applications, APIs and microservices
- Work with Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Build and support scalable distributed services
- Contribute to both greenfield development and existing platforms
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability
- Contribute to monitoring, observability and technical improvements
- Work collaboratively within an established engineering team
- Help reduce technical debt and continuously improve code quality and engineering practices
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with C# / .NET
- Strong experience with APIs and microservices
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and/or messaging technologies
- Experience working with production systems and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices
- Ability to work effectively within existing codebases and adapt quickly to new environments
Desirable Experience
- Java
- React.js
- Oracle, Couchbase or other database technologies
- Cloud and distributed systems
- Observability, monitoring, logging and metrics
- CI/CD and automated deployment pipelines
- Experience within media, entertainment, streaming or OTT
- Previous experience working with content platforms
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, pragmatic and delivery-focused. You should be comfortable working independently, asking the right questions, communicating progress and risks clearly, and moving between new development, enhancements and production issues.
Experience within the media or entertainment sector is beneficial but not essential. Strong technical capability and the ability to quickly become productive within a complex engineering environment are the key priorities.
