Role: Senior DevOps EngineerContract Length: 12 MonthsLocation: Hybrid- The role will be hybrid Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield 60% weekly in one of these offices.Clearance: Active SCAWS expert levelProvisioning services in AWS using Terraform expert levelAnsible expert levelContainerisation expert levelContainer orchestration Kubernetes senior levelGitLab CI expert levelExperience of creating technical documentation expert levelSenior DevOps Engineer required to lead and support the delivery of AWS environments and code deployments produced by the Benefits Supporting Services (BSS) team, creating a DevOps culture and implementing automation best practices. This will include coaching, mentoring and supporting the team.Building, improving and deploying reliable services, including production of documentation.Spotting instances where team not using best practices and advising how to improveLead on large pieces of workAbility to share knowledgeEnvironment build and support using automation and best practice. Supporting the development and test capability within AWS environments.Working in Benefit Supporting Services, covering DevOps for legacy benefit systemsProvide coordination support for HSE Governance activities, including coordination of HSE programs, preparation of performance reports, and maintenance of HSE required records.Assist the HSE Governance & Process team and operations with data analysis and trend identification to support continuous improvement actions.Producing trend reports from improvement sources (audit, significant risk areas, events, near misses and LFNW) and coordinating HSE communications & improvement projects.Providing insight and improvement opportunities for improvement project tracking management and oversight.Assist in the development, improvement and maintenance HSE Risk Registers and associated performance data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and visibility.Assist in improvement and maintenance HSE risk assessments as required.Support field verification of risk controls.Track completion of risk assessment actions & support preparation for risk reviews and HSE assurance activities.Manage site HSE SharePoint and document management systems, ensuringSupport document control processes, including version control, updates, and archiving of HSE procedures and records.Assistance in progress of annual priorities and improvement targets through support to local HSE leaders within the business.Any other duties as required for Governance TeamRoles:Navigating and effectively working across a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, adapting communication and approaches accordingly.Engaging with stakeholders who have varying levels of HSE awareness and maturity, and tailoring interventions to suit different needs.Acting as a coach and enabler, supporting teams in building sustainable HSE behaviors rather than enforcing compliance alone.Taking on a strong educational role, with HSE seen as a continuous teaching and learning function across the organization.Managing travel requirements while maintaining consistent HSE standards and engagement across multiple locations.Additional notes from Supplier Call:Should have Risk & Control management tracking focusWill be working through lot of systemsShould be process improvement orientedShould have great attention to details skills.Will be involved in some coordination activitiesShould possess assurance and follow up disciplineShould be well versed with SharePoint and Excel.
