Our AI lawyer Lawrence is built on top of our own fine tuned LLM and recently passed the UK's bar exam equivalent.
We're backed by some of the top US and UK VC funds including Google Ventures, Balderton Capital and TQ Ventures. We recently secured a $40M Series A funding round to facilitate international expansion and to grow our team, representing one of the five largest Series A rounds in Europe for 2024.
The Role
We're hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure that underpins all of Lawhive's products. You'll own our cloud environments, deployment pipelines, security foundations and observability, working closely with product engineers to ensure they can ship quickly and reliably. This role is hands-on and focused on creating a resilient, scalable platform as we continue to grow and evolve our systems.

The Role
We're hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to build and maintain the infrastructure that underpins all of Lawhive's products. You'll own our cloud environments, deployment pipelines, security foundations and observability, working closely with product engineers to ensure they can ship quickly and reliably. This role is hands-on and focused on creating a resilient, scalable platform as we continue to grow and evolve our systems.
What The Job Involves
- Deployment patterns and practices - Building and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines (GHA, AWS, ECS, K8s)
- Infrastructure and system architecture - Building and maintaining on our platform infrastructure, and contributing to system design as we scale
- Security and compliance - Executing on security and compliance roadmaps and hardening our software, systems and data security. Ensuring we have access controls, audit and compliance processes in place.
- Observability and Reliability - Owning monitoring and alerting systems to ensure we can inspect our services and respond to incidents
- Developer Experience and Cross team collaboration - Working with product engineering teams to improve our developer experience
- Ship daily - We're building and releasing features fast, going from idea to production in hours rather than weeks.
- Empathise with users - Lawyers and legal clients have unique perspectives, preferences and expectations. We build products which understand them deeply.
- Strive for excellence - We're ambitious and moving fast. The whole business is pushing to be a category defining legal tech company.
- Constantly learning and experimenting - We're at the cutting edge of using AI to directly improve people's lives. We take a blue-sky but pragmatic approach to how we apply new technologies.
- TypeScript for the majority of our applications, frontends, and microservices
- Python for data ingestion and our AI services
- AWS for our cloud infrastructure
- Postgres for our data storage
- Terraform for defining infrastructure as code
- Deep experience in DevOps, infrastructure and security at pace - You have worked in fast moving start/scale-ups that ship hourly.
- Strong release, deployment and cloud experience - You have worked extensively with CI/CD systems and modern cloud deployment patterns, Github Actions, Docker, Terraform, AWS.
- Passion about developer experience and productivity - Working with product engineers to create simple solutions to move fast regardless of the tech stack.
- Knows modern product engineering patterns and practices - Have experience working in product-centric companies and familiarity with the Typescript ecosystem, product testing practices, and solid system design fundamentals.
- Strong security mindset, experience in environments handling sensitive data and systems with strong access controls.
