Senior Robotics Engineer

Senior Robotics Engineer

Want to work with a team who are building a software platform that lets roboticists deploy robot applications faster?

Robotics needs better developer tools. This team is building them.

A UK based start-up is looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer to join their team and support the development and integration of robotics capabilities across their platform. The role spans simulation to real-world multi-robot systems, teleoperation and telepresence, real-time data visualisation, and fleet-level management - helping roboticists, developers, and enterprises deploy robots faster and more reliably.

If you love working across motion control, real-time systems and AI-powered autonomy; and want to shape tooling that speeds up robotics for everyone else – keep reading.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate in designing, developing, and maintaining the platform roadmap
  • Build and maintain drivers, interfaces, and protocol bridges for ROS2 and non-ROS robots
  • Integrate a wide range of robots, sensors, and actuators into the platform
  • Develop features for: teleoperation & telepresence (low-latency, safety, failovers) and Real-time telemetry, diagnostics, and fleet-level coordination
  • Support simulation-to-reality workflows and ensure fidelity between sim and real hardware
  • Test, validate, and tune systems on both simulated and live robots
  • Create tutorials, documentation, and demo applications to enable users at all levels
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex robotics issues
  • Align implementation with platform architecture and contribute to long-term robotics strategy

What They're Looking For:

  • 4+ years in robotics R&D or applied robotics engineering
  • Degree in Robotics, Engineering, CS or similar
  • Hands-on with ROS2, robot hardware integration and simulation tools (Gazebo/IsaacSim)
  • Strong understanding of robotics systems: perception, control, autonomy, or fleet coordination
  • Comfortable moving from prototypes to production-ready systems
  • Confident troubleshooting across software and hardware

Nice to Have:

  • Teleoperation, telepresence, or remote robot control experience
  • Fleet management / multi-robot system exposure
  • Open-source robotics contributions
  • Familiarity with safety-critical robotics
