Senior Robotics Engineer

Senior Robotics Engineer

Want to build and scale autonomy software powering a rapidly growing fleet of real-world robots?

A high-growth UK robotics company is scaling fast. They’re operating hundreds of robots in live customer environments and building the autonomy stack that will support thousands more.

We're hiring a Senior Robotics Engineer to help scale the core robotics platform behind their fast-growing Robot-as-a-Service model.

The challenge here is scale. How do you build a robust autonomy core that can be deployed globally, updated continuously, and operate reliably in dynamic warehouse environments?

This isn’t a research project. This is production robotics, deployed every two weeks into real customer sites, with zero manual customisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining autonomy software for deployed robotic systems
  • Working with ROS2, modern C++ and Python
  • Integrating perception, planning, and control modules
  • Supporting complex real-world deployments alongside field teams
  • Contributing to a robotics stack that must scale reliably across a global fleet

What they’re looking for:

  • Proven industry experience or a strong academic robotics background
  • Evidence of real work - deployed systems, open-source contributions, competitions etc.
  • Strong experience with ROS 2, C++, and Python
  • Solid Linux fundamentals, Git, CI/CD, and containerization
  • Strong communication skills and team mindset

It’s a bonus if you have:

• LiDAR sensor integration expertise

• Experience designing robotics software at scale

• LiDAR-based SLAM, segmentation, or perception pipeline experience

• Contributions to open-source robotics

They move fast. Standards are high. Ownership is real.

On-site x3 days per week in Oxfordshire.

If you want to work on production autonomy systems operating in the real world - not just in simulation - this is worth a conversation.
