Lead Analytics Platform Architect

Lead the architecture, design and implementation of the clients analytical capabilities, supporting the secure, governed and scalable use of data, analytics and digital services across the organisation. Working closely with business, architecture, engineering, security and delivery teams, the role will define target architectures, operating models, governance frameworks and service requirements that enable sustainable and effective analytical services. The role will provide architectural leadership across discovery, design and implementation activities, ensuring solutions align with business objectives, enterprise standards and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Architecture & Service Design

• Define target architectures, implementation roadmaps and Target Operating Models for analytical platforms and services.
• Lead architecture governance, design assurance and approvals, ensuring alignment with Client standards, security requirements and enterprise architecture principles.
• Provide architectural leadership across business, delivery, engineering, Data Architecture, suppliers and Enterprise Architecture teams.
• Develop solution architectures that enable scalable, resilient, interoperable and supportable services.

Platform & Service Delivery

• Lead discovery, design and implementation activities across analytical and digital platforms.
• Define business, technical and operational requirements, ensuring solutions are secure, governed and operationally sustainable.
• Support procurement activities and the transition of services from pilot and delivery phases into live operation.
• Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to support implementation, integration and operational readiness.

Security, Governance & Stakeholder Engagement

• Embed security-by-design principles and ensure compliance with governance, assurance and operational requirements.
• Work across architecture, security, engineering and delivery teams to resolve implementation challenges and enable business outcomes.
• Engage stakeholders and user communities, translating business requirements into practical technical solutions and service improvements.
• Provide clear technical leadership and guidance to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience defining and delivering enterprise architectures, target operating models and technology roadmaps.
• Strong architecture experience across cloud, data, analytics and digital platforms.
• Experience developing secure, scalable and governed enterprise services.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, platform engineering, DevOps and modern delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of security, governance, risk and compliance requirements.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology communities.
• Experience working through architecture governance and assurance processes.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience architecting and delivering enterprise analytics platforms, including SAS Viya.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services, Kubernetes/AKS, container technologies and platform engineering practices.
• Experience with analytical technologies including SAS, Posit, Fabric, Python and R.
• Understanding of analytical operating models, platform governance and service management.
• Experience supporting Proof of Concept, Pilot and platform implementation initiatives.
