Technical Support Specialist
Technical Support Specialist Customs & Freight Forwarding Experience Required Ashford, Middlesex £30,000 – £37,000 per annum We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist with experience in customs or freight forwarding to join our client’s growing team near Feltham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong operational background in imports and exports who is looking to move into a more technical, customer-focused role within a supportive and collaborative environment. You will work closely with freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics companies, providing system support and helping customers streamline their import and export processes using specialist customs software. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, and confident learning new technologies quickly. Working Hours Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern between 8:00am and 7:00pm:
- Early shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Mid shift: 9:00am – 5:30pm
- Late shift: 10:30am – 7:00pm
- Provide technical and operational support to customers within the customs and freight forwarding sector
- Assist clients with import and export processes using specialist software systems
- Troubleshoot customer issues and provide effective resolutions
- Deliver excellent customer service while managing multiple queries
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a high standard of support
- Strong knowledge of UK customs procedures and/or freight forwarding operations
- Hands-on experience completing import and export entries
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new systems and technologies
- Previous customer service experience
- Knowledge of Sequoia software
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Additional experience in import/export customs entries
