Job summary
We are seeking a motivated Information Governance professional to support the Trusts Information Governance, Data Protection and Freedom of Information functions. The role involves providing advice and guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with information governance legislation and standards, and supporting the delivery of the Trusts Information Governance strategy. Key Responsibilities: Provide Information Governance advice and guidance to Trust staff. Manage the Access to Health Records service and support Freedom of Information requests. Assist with Data Protection compliance, policy development and staff awareness initiatives. Support audits, monitoring activities and evidence collection to demonstrate organisational compliance. Produce and analyse performance reports to measure service delivery. Monitor action plans and contribute to Information Governance workstreams across Trust projects. Deliver training and promote awareness of Information Governance, Data Protection and Freedom of Information requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills, with a strong understanding of Information Governance and information rights legislation. Relevant Qualification or Equivalent Experience Degree-level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience in a relevant field, supported by evidence of continuous professional development. Analytical & Problem-Solving Ability Ability to analyse complex information, break down problems into critical components, identify solutions, and resolve issues where there is no clear precedent. Project Planning & Performance Management Experience in project planning, developing and monitoring project plans, tracking progress against targets, and producing performance reports. Communication & Presentation Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience delivering presentations, facilitating meetings/workshops, and producing clear, concise, high-quality responses to queries. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration Demonstrable ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, build positive working relationships, and work collaboratively to achieve objectives. Leadership, Motivation & Staff Management Ability to lead, influence and motivate others, manage staff performance appropriately, and demonstrate management skills including staff development, training and selection. Organisation, Resilience & Autonomous Working Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, sustain concentration on complex tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.

The post holder will be based at the St James’s Hospital but will be required to travel and work across all Trust Sites.
