Reporting to the Voice Services Senior Engineer your role will focus on ensuring telephony systems are maintained and supported to Trust standards

Main duties of the job
You will take responsibility for ensuring day to day requests for faults and changes are attended to. Moves and changes are a daily occurrence in the Trust. As staff relocate, appropriate sockets need to be made live. This must be promptly attended to ensure no loss of service. Frequency of requests varies from two per day to thirty. This requires a logical practical approach.
The post holder will be required to operate independently and unsupervised within a framework of standards applied to the provision of Information Services throughout the Trust.

Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent experience in a Telecoms related discipline
Skills & behaviours
- Mature, Flexible and Highly Motivated approach to work.
- Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Able to keep cool under pressure and capable of prioritising tasks.
- Reliable team player, but also able to work on own initiative.
Additional Requirements
- Well-developed communication skills oral & written.
- Logical approach to problem solving.

- Electronics Experience
- Good organisational skills
- Able to cover operational hours and willing to participate in the On Call Rota and overtime when required.
- Able to walk long distances between communication equipment locations and be able to lift and carry equipment for long distances.
Experience
- Knowledge of voice data cabling
- A good understanding of component level electronics
- Unify Openscape 4000 PABX Programming
- A Good understanding of a large enterprise telecoms environment, including Deployment of resilient, wide area communications
