Reporting to the EUC Operations Manager, your role will be to lead and line manage a team of IM&T Technicians within the EUC function, ensuring that the Team is working effectively and providing an appropriate level of service to the Trusts c. 22,000 employees, helping to ensure that the c. 16,000 devices (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and associated software components) are working optimally.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will be a highly skilled, knowledgeable and experienced member of the DIT, a lead specialist in their area, able to problem-solve complex EUC issues, develop, deliver and continually improve EUC services, identifying and implementing the most effective solution at all times. They assist in defining EUC strategy and the on-going development of new standards, policies, and procedures, being responsible for the production and maintenance of EUC standard operating procedures (SOPs) that improve efficiency and overall service.
Utilizing their technical expertise and managerial skills, they will be responsible for the continual management and planning of the Teams workload, allocating resource in a constantly changing, and challenging environment, adapting and responding to urgent issues and the need for re-prioritisation, whilst also planning and delivering the EUC element of projects and wider schemes. Stock management and ordering of EUC hardware and components to maintain service is an important aspect of the role, as is the associated on-going development and training of all team members.
To deputise for the EUC Ops Manager as required and provide expert advice and operational support across all clinical and corporate functions, working closely with all senior managers, clinical leaders, and staff side organisations to develop and raise professional service standards, working practices, productivity, and capability levels.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE, ECDL level or equivalent including Maths and English
- Degree in relevant IT subject or MCSE
Experience
- Substantial supervisory experience, including the planning and allocation of workload
- Considerable experience within an IM&T support environment
- Highly developed specialist knowledge of MS Windows desktop operating systems, associated hardware and applications
- High level of diagnostic and fault-finding knowledge/skills along with a broad range of IT knowledge/experience
- Absence and performance management, and professional development of staff
- Service Desk/Helpdesk call logging systems
- Previous experience working as a leader in an IT environment
- Knowledge of Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management
- Knowledge of Project Management
- NHS/Healthcare environment
