Project Manager

Job summary

We are seeking an Project Manager to join the Research and Innovation team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a full time post with a 2 year temporary contract (due to funding availability).

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of projects focused on improving research delivery through the innovative use of technology, data and digital solutions.

Main duties of the job

Working within the Real World Data and Research Informatics team, you will manage projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, timescale and budget requirements. Strategic projects which are planned for the Project Manager will support the delivery of objectives from the R&I 2025-2030 strategy, including:

  • Scoping, procurement and implementation of an e-site file for research projects
  • Implementation of OneForm, the trusts study set-up tool, across health and care organisations in Leeds
  • Scoping, procurement and implementation of software to maximise the utility of Real World Data available at the trust

The main tasks of the role are:

  • Managing a portfolio of projects with a focus on improving research delivery across Leeds through use of cutting-edge technology.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to a professional standard in-line with LTHTs Project Design Life Cycle (PLDC)
  • Collaborating with city-wide stakeholders including industry, academia, NHS staff and patients

What you will bring to the role

The successful candidate will bring proven project management experience, ideally gained within the NHS, healthcare, research or other complex organisational environments. You will have a strong understanding of structured project delivery methodologies, such as PRINCE2, and be confident managing projects through their full lifecycle, from planning and business case development through to implementation and benefits realisation.

You will be a skilled communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence a range of stakeholders, including clinical, operational, technical and external partners. Your ability to translate complex information into practical solutions will help teams navigate change and successfully adopt new systems and ways of working.

We are looking for someone who combines analytical thinking with strong organisational skills, enabling them to manage competing priorities, identify risks and solve problems proactively. You will bring an appreciation of the opportunities that digital technologies, data and informatics present for healthcare and research.
