The Radiology IT Department are seeking a permanent Senior System Support Officer, to work as part of a team providing support for all aspects of IT within Radiology, across all LTHT sites. You will participate in the Radiology IT helpdesk function and offer both hardware and software support to Radiology users. You will be responsible for system administration on CRIS (Computerised Radiology Information System) and assist in the system administration of the Trust’s PACS (Picture Archiving & Communication System). Part of the role will include the production and presentation of information reports, using data entered into a variety of systems. The post holder will possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a high level of organisation with a meticulous approach to detail, as well as the ability to prioritise one’s own workload, working both independently and as a team. You will have comprehensive experience of using and supporting users with email and MS Office applications and be able to rapidly adapt to new systems and procedures.

Radiology IT plays an essential role in supporting the delivery of our clinical services.

Our team provides IT support across Radiology at all Leeds Teaching Hospitals sites, maintaining the hardware, software and systems that are fundamental to the day-to-day operation of the service. Working closely with clinical and operational colleagues, we help ensure that our technology is reliable, effective and able to meet the changing needs of the service.

• Provide effective first and second-line IT support to Radiology users, working closely with other IT teams, Technical Services and external suppliers to resolve issues efficiently.  
• Log, diagnose and manage technical faults, monitoring their progress and liaising with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution.  
• Install, configure and maintain IT equipment, arranging repairs or replacement equipment where required to minimise disruption to service delivery.  
• Maintain accurate records of hardware faults and equipment issues, ensuring suitable backup and replacement equipment is available to support business continuity.  
• Maintain accurate user and system reference records, implementing changes to passwords, access permissions and user profiles in response to staff movements, changes in responsibilities and other organisational requirements.  
• Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of acceptance testing for changes and updates to the CRIS database, helping to ensure new functionality is fit for purpose before implementation.  
• Oversee regular QA on all Radiology PACS Workstations as per IR(ME)R regulations within an agreed time frame, collate results and highlight any abnormal findings.  
• Assist the team in the provision of complex, timely and accurate information to support the clinical and business objectives of the Radiology department, some of which will involve analysis, investigation, research, interpretation, planning, writing and implementation, using a range of software products.  
• Undertake training as required in order to keep up-to-date with a variety of tools and clinical systems.
