SAP Advisory Senior Consultant (Finance or Supply Chain)

Summary: As a Senior Advisory Consultant in the Advisory practice, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients identify innovation across every industry, bringing new opportunities and helping organizations to navigate the associated challenges so they can deliver on their most complex technology change projects. This role is open to candidates with a strong functional background in either Finance or Supply Chain, and deep SAP domain expertise in their chosen specialism.

We utilize technology enablement to tackle a variety of business problems from business and technology process analysis through to the design, delivery and management of strategic solutions. We increasingly use advanced analytics, cloud platforms including SAP RISE and modern delivery methods to provide innovative solutions to complex industry issues. As an Advisory Consultant you will be leading teams with expert capabilities in business analysts, solution & technical architecture, SAP and IT operations, DevOps, financial modelling and FinOps, data management, advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence. We excel at SAP and non-SAP migrations and moving workloads to the Cloud.

Our advisory team supports the development and execution of IT strategy, business cases, and implementation roadmaps of IT functions and services. We provide business leaders with the insights and confidence necessary for senior leaders to appropriately consider how to respond to the impact of disruptive technologies such as Cloud automation, Big Data, AI and SAP RISE and have implemented the required changes to IT governance and operating models.

Responsibilities:

Transformation Programs:

• Lead cutting-edge SAP IT transformation programs, analyzing client IT and functional processes, and providing guidance on the design and implementation of SAP solutions and IT operations.
• Play a lead role in mapping out improvements to client working practices and articulate the value of those changes.
• Understand a breadth of technologies across all major Hyperscalers and make use of specialists on the team to create compelling and comprehensive transformational roadmaps.

Project Delivery:

• Provide leadership to a team producing high-quality deliverables, and providing crucial input to shape the strategic direction for discovery, design and implementation projects.
• Demonstrate familiarity with SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), ITIL, and TOGAF methodologies.
• Leverage and maximize clients’ investments in ITSM tools and frameworks.
• Support clients in SAP S/4HANA projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from requirements analysis to solution design, technical concept, implementation, testing, training, go-live, and rollout.

Transformation Roadmaps:

• Develop comprehensive roadmaps and interim states for transitioning from on-premise SAP basis operations models to SAP Cloud models for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Translate functional process requirements into actionable technology strategies aligned with client business goals.

Practice and Sales Support:

• Support pre-sales activities by creating or contributing to proposals, statements of work and responses to customer questions.
• Demonstrate and articulate the benefits of Lemongrass advisory services to prospective clients.
• Identification of existing customer sales opportunities.
• Contribute to the growth and success of our advisory practice by enhancing market offers, knowledge, and overall strategic goals.

Experience and Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong functional background in either Finance or Supply Chain and a proven track record in SAP-led transformation programs, possessing the following experiences and qualifications:

Finance Specialism:

SAP Finance Expertise:

• Proven experience in SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) process design and implementation, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.
• Demonstrated understanding of key SAP Finance modules and technologies, both historical and current.

Cloud Financial Governance and CoE Setup:

• Establishing and defining Cloud FinOps Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and governance models for mid-sized to large organizations.

Collaboration with IT Procurement:

• Experience collaborating with IT procurement teams to optimize cloud-related financial processes.

Vendor Management Experience:

• Hands-on experience working with one or more cloud vendors, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Familiarity with cloud contracting models, commitment models, and licensing structures.
• Familiarity with SAP licensing models.

Cost Optimization Techniques:

• In-depth knowledge of cloud cost optimization techniques across storage, data transfer, compute, database, and monitoring.
• Proficient understanding of AI adoption, cloud strategies, Dev-Sec-Ops practices, and cloud-based operations.

Tools Experience:

• Hands-on working experience in one or more FinOps and Technology Business Management (TBM) tools such as Cloudability, Apptio, CloudCheckr, CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, etc.

Supply Chain Specialism:

SAP Supply Chain Expertise:

• Proven experience in SAP Supply Chain process design and implementation, including Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Sales and Distribution (SD), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), or Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
• Demonstrated understanding of key SAP Supply Chain modules and technologies, both historical and current.

End-to-End Supply Chain Operations:

• Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, inventory management, logistics, demand planning, and order-to-cash processes.
• Experience advising clients on supply chain transformation and optimization, including digital manufacturing, supplier collaboration, and fulfillment strategy.

Vendor and Procurement Management:

• Hands-on experience working with one or more cloud vendors, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Familiarity with cloud contracting models and licensing structures.
• Familiarity with SAP licensing models.

Supply Chain Analytics and Innovation:

• Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, IoT integration, and supply chain analytics in a cloud environment.
• Proficient understanding of AI adoption, cloud strategies, Dev-Sec-Ops practices, and cloud-based operations.

Tools Experience:

• Hands-on working experience in SAP IBP, SAP Ariba, or equivalent supply chain planning and procurement tools.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Operations Engineering/Consulting.
• Degree in a relevant field.
• Cloud practitioner certification.
• SAP certifications in relevant functional area.
• FinOps certification (Desirable for Finance track).
