HR Advisor

HR Advisor – Full-time, Permanent

Location: Poole, Dorset (hybrid working)

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum DOE + Benefits

The Opportunity:

As an HR Advisor, do you enjoy being the person managers turn to for trusted advice, solutions and guidance through difficult people situations?

Do you thrive when you're involved in the whole employee journey rather than being restricted to one small part of the HR function?

Unfortunately, the reality for many HR Advisors is that they find themselves buried in admin, spending most of their time processing paperwork, chasing approvals, updating systems, and firefighting issues with little opportunity to influence decisions, improve processes, or build meaningful relationships with the people they're there to support.

This opportunity offers something different.

You'll join a growing organisation where HR has a visible presence across the business and where you'll have the opportunity to build relationships, influence managers, contribute to projects, and play a key role in creating a positive employee experience.

It's a varied position that combines employee relations, HR operations, recruitment support, wellbeing initiatives, reporting, projects and office management responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys diversity in their role and wants exposure across the full HR spectrum.

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Salary up to £40,000 per annum (may be slightly negotiable depending on experience)
  • Annual salary reviews with regular market benchmarking
  • Hybrid working (1 day per week remote from home)
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme with employer contribution and matched enhancements
  • Health Cash Plan including 24/7 GP access, dental and optical cover
  • Death in Service cover (4x salary)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Paid volunteering days
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Modern office environment and collaborative culture
  • Team events, knowledge sharing and continuous learning opportunities
  • High levels of autonomy, trust and ownership
  • Structured training and development opportunities to help you grow
  • The opportunity to influence strategy within a growing technology business

What the HR Advisor Will Do:

You'll work closely with managers and employees across the business, providing trusted HR advice while helping to create a positive, compliant and engaging employee experience.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Providing first-line HR advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle
  • Managing low to medium-risk employee relations matters, including absence, performance, conduct and grievance cases
  • Coordinating onboarding, contractual changes, probation reviews and employee lifecycle administration
  • Supporting recruitment activities, including offers, pre-employment checks and onboarding
  • Maintaining accurate HR records, reporting and payroll-related employee changes
  • Contributing to wellbeing, engagement and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting Health & Safety compliance and the smooth day-to-day running of the office

What You’ll Bring:

We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor or HR Generalist who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering a high-quality HR service.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar HR generalist position
  • Experience supporting managers with employee relations cases and HR policy application
  • Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience maintaining HR records, producing documentation and supporting HR processes
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous (practical HR experience is equally important)

Why You Should Apply:

Perhaps you're currently spending more time processing paperwork than supporting people and looking for a role that gives you broader exposure across employee relations, HR operations, wellbeing, projects and continuous improvement, helping you build the skills needed for your next step into Senior Advisor or Business Partner level positions.

If you're looking for a role where your advice is valued, your opinion is heard, and your contribution makes a difference to employees and managers, we'd love to tell you more.
