Head of Product
Head of Product – Full-time, Permanent
Location: Poole, Dorset (hybrid working)
Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum DOE + Benefits
The Opportunity:
As a Head of Product, do you perform at your best when you have the space to think strategically, are trusted to make decisions, and have the opportunity to shape products that make a difference?
Unfortunately, the reality is that many experienced Product leaders find themselves spending more time balancing competing stakeholder demands, reacting to shifting priorities and managing delivery than influencing the long-term direction of the products they're responsible for.
This opportunity offers something different!
You'll be joining an established software business with a strong customer base, complex enterprise products and ambitious growth plans. The foundations are already in place, but there is a real opportunity to influence where the products go next, identify new commercial opportunities and help shape the future direction of the business.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Salary up to £80,000 per annum (may be slightly negotiable depending on experience)
- Annual salary reviews with regular market benchmarking
- Hybrid working (1 day per week remote from home)
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension scheme with employer contribution and matched enhancements
- Health Cash Plan including 24/7 GP access, dental and optical cover
- Death in Service cover (4x salary)
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Paid volunteering days
- Discretionary bonus
- Modern office environment and collaborative culture
- Team events, knowledge sharing and continuous learning opportunities
- High levels of autonomy, trust and ownership
- Structured training and development opportunities to help you grow
- The opportunity to influence technical strategy within a growing technology business
What the Head of Product Will Do:
This is a strategic leadership role, but one that stays connected to both customers and technology.
You'll lead an established Product team while working closely with Engineering, Commercial and senior stakeholders to ensure products continue delivering value to customers and supporting the long-term growth of the business.
You'll be responsible for:
- Defining and delivering the product strategy and roadmap across multiple software products
- Leading, mentoring and developing Product Managers, Product Owners and Business Analysts
- Working closely with Engineering to turn strategy into successful delivery
- Identifying commercial opportunities, shaping propositions and supporting product launches
- Acting as the senior product voice with customers, stakeholders and internal teams
- Driving continuous improvement across the Product function, measuring success through clear outcomes and KPIs
What You’ll Bring:
We're looking for an experienced Head of Product, Product Director or Senior Product Leader who enjoys solving complex problems, developing people and influencing business direction.
You'll ideally have:
- A proven track record of defining product strategy and delivering successful product roadmaps
- Experience leading high-performing Product teams within a software environment
- Experience working with technically complex software products or enterprise platforms
- Experience defining customer value propositions and identifying commercial opportunities
- Comfortable translating customer needs into functional specifications, epics and user stories
- Strong commercial awareness, balancing customer value with business objectives
- Confident engaging with developers, customers and executive stakeholders
- Able to understand technical discussions around architecture, integrations and software delivery without needing to be hands-on in development
Why You Should Apply:
Perhaps you're ready for a role where Product has a voice at the leadership table.
Maybe you're looking for the opportunity to influence strategy rather than simply respond to it.
Or perhaps you want to lead a talented team, stay close enough to technology to make informed decisions, and see the impact your work has across an entire business.
If that sounds familiar, we'd love to tell you more.
