This is a high-impact Director-level opportunity to play a central role in shaping and strengthening IT project delivery across a leading Corporate & Investment Banking platform in the UK. You’ll act as the key bridge between local IT teams and global transformation leadership—driving consistency, performance, and innovation across the project landscape.

The Opportunity

As part of an ambitious 2030 IT Transformation Strategy, this role sits at the heart of a major initiative focused on enhancing delivery excellence and operational efficiency.

You’ll take ownership of strengthening project execution, aligning UK practices with global standards, and building a high-performing Project Management community.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Project Leadership & Delivery

You will step in as a hands-on IT Project Manager when required—either leading key initiatives or setting them up for success.

• Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources
• Lead cross-functional teams and drive stakeholder alignment
• Identify and mitigate risks proactively
• Oversee budget tracking (technical + human resources)
• Manage change requests while protecting delivery timelines
• Ensure strong governance, documentation, and compliance
• Oversee vendor relationships where applicable
• Lead seamless handovers into production (“Run”) teams

2. Portfolio & Project Management Oversight

Act as the UK representative for Project Delivery & Portfolio Management, ensuring alignment with Head Office frameworks.

• Embed standardized project methodologies and tools
• Improve portfolio performance monitoring and reporting
• Drive adoption of centralized PPM tools and processes
• Produce KPI scorecards for senior stakeholders
• Gather and analyze sponsor and PM feedback to drive improvements
• Support transformation initiatives linked to delivery excellence
• Ensure consistency in reporting and presentation standards

3. Community Building & Transformation

You’ll play a key role in building a collaborative, high-performing Project Management community.

• Foster knowledge sharing and best practice adoption
• Drive engagement across project managers and stakeholders
• Promote a culture of delivery excellence and innovation
• Surface local challenges and influence global solutions
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

4. Business Management Support (IT UK)

In addition to delivery responsibilities, you will contribute to the broader IT Business Management function.

• Support IT financial planning (Opex, Capex, Change & Run budgets)
• Coordinate and centralize project reporting across the UK platform
• Engage with internal stakeholders and external providers

Key Focus Areas

• London-based IT initiatives, particularly within Global Markets / Commodities IT
• Strong exposure to complex systems environments (e.g., trading platforms)
• Driving alignment between local delivery and global transformation strategy

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in IT Project & Programme Management (Director-level)
• Strong stakeholder management across senior leadership and global teams
• Experience working within Corporate & Investment Banking environments
• Solid understanding of portfolio management, governance, and reporting frameworks
• Ability to manage budgets across technical and human resources
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
• A proactive mindset with a passion for driving change and improving delivery
